Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

Last updated: [5th July 2025]

This Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy explains how I, Ali Razza, ensure the safety and welfare of all children who use my online tutoring services. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for students aged 7–11 (Year 3–6) in line with UK safeguarding guidance.

1. Commitment to Safeguarding
I believe every child has the right to learn in a safe and secure environment, free from harm. I take all reasonable steps to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm during tutoring sessions.

2. Tutor Responsibilities
I hold a current and up-to-date Enhanced DBS Certificate (DBS number: 1823942779, valid until: 23/03/2026) which is renewed as required. I complete safeguarding training regularly to stay informed of best practice. I follow the statutory guidance outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and other relevant UK child protection laws.

3. Safe Online Environment
Tutoring sessions take place online via Google Meet. I use secure, password-protected meetings and only admit students known to me. Parents/guardians are encouraged to supervise or be nearby during sessions. I will not communicate with students via private social media accounts.

4. Code of Conduct
I maintain professional boundaries at all times. I do not share personal contact details with students, other than those necessary for arranging lessons. I treat all students with respect, encourage positive behaviour, and create an inclusive learning space.

5. Recording and Monitoring
Lessons may be recorded for safeguarding, training or quality assurance purposes. Parents will be informed if recordings are made. These recordings are stored securely and deleted when no longer needed.

6. Recognising and Responding to Concerns
I am alert to signs of abuse or neglect, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse or neglect. If I have a safeguarding concern about a student’s welfare, I will follow an appropriate reporting process. This may include sharing information with parents/carers or, if necessary, with relevant authorities such as local children’s services or the police.

7. Confidentiality
Safeguarding concerns will be handled sensitively. Information will be shared only with people who need to know to protect the child’s welfare.

8. Parent and Student Responsibilities

Parents should ensure that their child uses a suitable space for lessons (e.g. in a quiet room, not a bedroom if possible) and that they or another trusted adult is nearby. Parents should communicate any relevant medical or welfare needs before sessions begin.

9. Reporting a Concern
If you have any concerns about your child’s safety in connection with my tutoring services, please contact me immediately at info@razzatuition.com. I will respond promptly and take appropriate action.

10. Review of Policy
I review this policy at least once a year or sooner if guidance changes. Updates will be published on my website.

By using my tutoring services, you confirm you have read and accept this Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
